My name is xxxxxxxxxx. Ive recently turned 18 years old in November and my major is Computer Information Systems. I registered for 17 credits comprised of six classes which were, US History I, Precalculus, Freshman Seminar, Computer Info Systems, Composition I, and Principles of Management. I was dismissed from xxxxxxxxx Community College after my first semester, which was the fall of 2009. I believe it was because I was naive, foolish, and I did not take my studies very seriously. I do not blame anyone but myself for this very sad consequence and I know I did not try to the best of my abilities and skills. This was my first semester in college as a freshman. After going through this semester, taking 17 credits was too much to handle and un-wise of me to do so I had to withdraw from my precalculus late. I believe I still had the high school mentality in me during that time. This was my first time being away from home for over 3 months and I was overwhelmed by the new freedoms of dorm life: being away from home and calling my own shots. I did not discipline myself as I should during my semester, and Im at where I am now because of my lack of discipline. Probably one of my worse mistakes is that I did not ask for help when I clearly needed it. I also did not take the academic rules from the college seriously enough. I guess I didnt think that I had to work really hard in my first semester. I wanted to get used to the College feel. Now I realize that was a foolish mistake on my part. Choosing 17 credits was clearly something I couldnt handle. If given the chance I will learn to average myself to a proper workload. College is a serious time of studies and hard work, and not fooling around. In which now I realize after receiving the letter and thinking about what I should have done in my time during my Christmas break. My parents saw the letter as well, and they were very disappointed in me because they expected me to do much better and I let them down. Being told that I was dismissed definitely woke me up to try to achieve better, and taught me a lesson that I will never forget. I have even read and studied a bit about computer applications (a class that I was suppose to take next semester) and programs. This is the first time I was dismissed/suspended from a school, I never received a suspension and I barely had detentions back in high school (my high school transcripts can prove it) so you can see how much being dismissed really makes my family and I disappointed. Now that Ive seen my errors, I have created steps to improve my grades and studies. If given the chance based on your decision, I will be very dedicated to performing my study block in order to improve myself to avoid this devastating situation. 1.Firstly if accepted back for the Spring I will take an average credit decision of 15 which I know I can manage.
2.Once I have my classes and times, I will construct a study time table for homework assignments and preparations for exams. That was also one of the reasons why I didnt do well.
3.Find tutors for a class that I am struggling with, I did not take the time to perform this in my first semester, but I will for the spring if you allow this
4.I also plan on visiting my teachers during their respected office hours for extra help or assistance. I also failed to do this as well during the semester.
My goal is to achieve my Associates then work on to my Bachelors Degree and, if I can, continue for my Masters. I am sure you know how much of an honor, privilege, and an accomplishment it is just to receive an associates. It gives me the option to find a job that can provide for me and the people who I love. Your decision will greatly change my life for good. If chosen to leave I will have to go and look for another community college for the spring semester (which time is very limited for me because I do not want to miss a semester of school). If I am chosen to stay, my motivation to study will highly increase, because I know I cannot afford to be in this position again, and I know if I do fall in this position again (god forbid) I will not have an opportunity like this one again, or even a chance for you to accept my appeal. If chosen, I will gladly accept academic probation, which will be another motivating factor for me to work and take my studies seriously. I will talk to any member of the academic committee or anyone else in the school for this appeal and I will retake any of my classes that I have failed. If accept I will also agree to other terms you may want to put me in as well. I will love to return back to xxxxxxx and the dorms as a full-time student for the 2010 spring semester. I bought this laptop on November 2nd, 2009. Acer Aspire 481OT. Everything was fine until something went wrong with the Internet. After being online for 2 hours or as short as 20 minutes, the computer will freeze, and I will see that it says “(Not responding)” at the top. I have not confirmed if this only happens for select sites, because I visit basically the same sites each time I go on. It seems to happen more on MySpace Poker Palace, and less on email accounts. The only way that I can get out of it without just turning it off by pushing and holding the power switch is CTRL ALT DEL. Everything will be extremely slow and unresponsive, even after the browser is closed. The computer will not operate normally until it is turned off and back on. It can be off for 5 seconds, but will work fine after restarted. I thought I might have some virus, but then I did a virus scan. I was clean. I had a free upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows Vista, so I figured that this would be a good time to make the upgrade. Even with the upgrade, I still experience this same problem. I have tried 4 different browsers (Firefox, AOL, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome), but all end up unresponsive. I think that trying Safari or some other browser next would be a waste of time. I do not know much about laptops, so if you have an idea, thoroughly explain to me what to do. I have a warranty on this, but if there is a simpler solution than that, then I would like to hear it. Any ideas will help, because I have no idea what to do.
Why do all my Internet browsers stop working after a while and how can this be fixed?
I was laid off last November 2008 and from December 2008 to March 2009 I was receiving “severance pay” from the employer that laid me off. The California Unemployment Office first counted the $14,000+ of severance pay for that 4-month duration as income for the last quarter earning thus giving me a larger weekly claim. They recently sent me an amended claim stating that the $14,000 will NOT count as income in the last quarter of 2008 thus reducing my weekly pay from $474 to only $370. My question is shouldn’t that severance pay count towards my last quarter earnings? Does severance pay not count at all when calculating someone’s earnings? I am being taxed on it and at a very, very high rate (25%). Thanks!

November home sales leap – NEW YORK (CNNMoney. com) — After surging 10% in October, sales of existing homes jumped again in November, growing 7.4% compared with October to an annualized rate of 6.54 million units, according to the National Association of Realtors. “This clearly is a rush of first-time buyers not wanting to miss out on the tax credit,” said NAR’s chief economist, Lawrence Yun. November was originally going to be the last month in which sales to first-time homebuyers would qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $8,000. However, that deadline was extended through June. In addition, the tax credit was expanded to cover people who already own a home. They can qualify for a $6,500 tax credit if purchase a new house before the end of June. That should encourage “trade-up” buyers. The strength of sales in November surprised the industry. A panel of experts compiled by Briefing. com had forecast month-over-month sales growth of just 2.5% to 6.25 million from 6.1 million a month earlier. The sales total was also a huge improvement over a year ago. Sales rose 45.7% over the paltry annualized rate of 4.49 million units during November 2008. The contribution made by first-time buyers is evident in a separate survey NAR conducted of its members. They estimate that 51% of sales in November were by newcomers to the market, up a point from 50% in October. Normally, first timers account for about 40% of sales. Also propelling sales higher were rock-bottom interest rates. The average for a 30-year, fixed-rate loan during the month was just 4.88%, down from 4.95% in October and 6.09% a year ago. With rates that much lower, homebuyers can save more than $150 a month on a $200,000 mortgage. The industry expects home sales to slacken December, partially because of the tax credit’s originally scheduled demise. That caused some buyers to push up their closing, stealing sales from December. However, sales will not fall off a cliff, though, according to Walter Molony, a NAR spokesman. “The psychology seems to be turning around,” he said. “Potential buyers, who had been staying on the fence, now believe we’re at or near the market bottom.” One X-factor, however, is the vast numbers of homes that may come to market over the next few months. There is a large “shadow inventory” — homes owned by banks and mortgage companies — that have not yet been put up for sale. It could be as many as 1.7 million units, according to First American CoreLogic. In addition, another spate of foreclosures could be hitting the market as a number of option-ARM mortgages are set to default. All that may drive prices down, according to Shari Olefson, author of “Foreclosure Nation: Mortgaging the American Dream.” And the impact of these renewed price declines could again alter the market psychology. “People think that prices have bottomed,” she said. “I don’t think they have. People will see price declines and that will discourage them from buying.” Mike Larson, a real estate analyst with Weiss Research has preached all through the bust that price declines are what will “fix” the housing crisis. “We needed to see prices fall to make ownership competitive with renting again, and to restore the normal relationship of house prices to income,” he said. “That has now happened and you’re seeing buyers come out of the woodwork as a result.” Still, they will have to come out in large numbers to offset the inventory overhang in some of the worst markets, according to Olefson. My mom lost her biological mom when I was around 5 [To Cancer.]
My mom’s adopted mom November 29, 2009, [To Cancer.]
My mom’s step father December 4, 2009. [To Cancer.] && My mom’s Uncle, [My Great Uncle.] December 5, 2009 [To Cancer.]
And very unfortunately, my friend’s mother had lost her battle with Ovarian
Cancer. My family [Especially my mother and I] Were VERY close to this
Family and Cathy. [The one who lost her battle with cancer.] Cathy was very nice,
She help my grandmother who just passed Nov. 29th with her cancer.

Sadly, Cathy lost her battle.
Everyone knew she didn’t have much time.
She knew, Her husband, Her 3 sons, family and friends.
But, that time came to fast and to soon..
Cathy passed December 20, 2009 at 12:10 AM.
