Did ESPN jump the gun by allowing Craig James to insult a college football coach?
I have read hundreds of reports, but none say what was the point of putting the player in the closet. Was it to monitor him in a secure location? Was it to punish him? Was it to hide him from someone?
Why did Mike Leach lock up that player?
And being brutally honest about his assessment of both Adam and Craig James? When this first broke I drank the kool aid that Leach was the bad guy, but the more I look into it I’m plenty convinced that the Jameses had an agenda. The most pathetic part of this whole episode is ESPN giving its employee James a microphone and a captive audience to further his agenda before it was all on the table.
Even if you’ve taken ESPN’s orders to hate Mike Leach, will you at least give him credit for talking?
I wonder if the four letter network has ever heard the phrase “conflict of interest”. Given that Craig James is an employee of ESPN, the obvious course of action is to simply decline all coverage and/or comment on the matter. Instead, ESPN continually pimped James for comment, whereby he put out his “I’m just a dad” schtick that we all know doesn’t tell the whole story. In the Erin Andrews matter, ESPN declined all coverage and comment for good reason. But James gets the bully pulpit to pimp his point of view. Is it time for the four letter network to review their conflict of interest policies, if in fact they bothered to have any? For the record, none of the above shall be construed as a defense of Mike Leach.

Bobby knight, maybe? well, if he wasn’t tough what was he doing on a texas team in the first place? you can’t make on a texas highschool team with out being a hard worker and one of the best. surely not one of top nation programs in texas. his poor attitude imo is direct reflection on the coaching staff. maybe they should have just kicked him off the team instead of whine about him. ive seen players get kicked off for less

Here’s what I have heard. Mike Leach was under fire for putting Adam Jones in a electrical closet because he couldn’t/wouldn’t practice due to a concussion. Some have argued that when someone has a concussion, the best place for them to be is in a dark room (I read this comment on a website that spoke of this story).Also Adam Jone’s father is Craig Jones who works for ESPN. Those who are siding with Coach Leach are saying Adam Jones did not have a strong work ethic and that his father is blowing the whole thing out of proportion and that Mike Leach could possibly sue ESPN for slander. That this is nothing more than a smear campaign brought on by a lazy athlete who is upset about some other form of discipline (not the “being locked in the closet thing). Also when Mike Leach was suspended, he filed a lawsuit against the school for his suspension and that was another reason he was let go. I’m not a huge sports fan and I don’t watch college football but this story caught my attention. Your thoughts, Comments, enlightments? Oops TTU…Well I did say I didnt know a lot about College Football and I think I pretty much proved it =D And yep, Scooter and I beat the crap outta Tiger…or atleast we tried to but Erin insisted on going first and as of now we are still waiting our turn

He was the lead a**clown at that whole a**clown institution known as Texas Tech. I heard a story from someone who heard about the news and this is her comment. “I have 2 Aggie sons and an Aggie husband. Went on a college visit to Tech with my youngest and all they did was bash TAMU the whole time. We were in a mass comm presentation and they said “Our students are actually taught by professors, unlike TAMU where you will only have Grad students teach you.” Told our group that was a bunch of BS.
